About us
National Torque Tools Pty Ltd. began operations in Australia about 1982, selling and servicing Torque Equipment. The New Zealand operation was set up in 1991 as a branch of the parent company in Australia. I joined the Company as Branch Manager in 1995. My background was initially in aircraft engineering and subsequently in engineering equipment sales. Indoctrination included training at the factory of Consolidated Devices Inc. in Los Angeles and Stanley Hydraulic Tools in Portland. This training covered all aspects of repair and calibration of the CDI & Stanley range of products.
In June 1996 an opportunity arose which resulted in the purchase the New Zealand Branch. A new company, National Torque Tools NZ Ltd., was formed to effect this purchase. The Stanley & CDI agencies have continued under the new ownership.
The torque test capabilities have been expanded to cover Tension & Force testing with the investment in additional equipment. Testing and repairs are carried out on all brands of torque equipment including torque multipliers. Telarc Q-Base certification was gained in 1998 as part of the companies ongoing commitment to improving quality & services. The Company's operation includes sales and service/repair of Pneumatic and Hydraulic tools, with the emphasis on the top end of the market with high quality products. We also track down and source those hard to find and unusual products for specialist applications. A Hire service was introduced recently to cater for specialist markets and the company's line up boasts the largest range of underwater tools available on the NZ market.
